During the Summer evenings we relocate our beehives into local farmers paddocks. It is here the honey bees pollinate the blackcurrant flowers by transferring pollen from flower to flower which leads to fertilization. Pollination is a vital stage in the life cycle of all flowering plants.
Approximately one third of the food we eat is the result of honey bee pollination.
